Experimental Physics at Eötvös University and the Department of Materials Physics

Experimental physics is a crucial part of the education of physicists and physics teachers. Following the tradition of decades, presentation of scientific experiments are inherent part of the introductory lectures.

Modern, computer assisted eqipments and simple handmade or muzeal experimental tools from Eötvös Loránd are widely used in the demonstration experiments. The Department exhibits one of the original torsional pendulum from Eötvös which was awarded by gold medal at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900.

Currently, our Department has dominant position in the education of experimental physics for physicist researchers and physics teachers and in the management of young scientists in Hungary.
