A téma rövid leírása: |
Shear localization is a typical feature of plastic deformation in various materials. In general, occurrence of plastic instabilities and appearance of soft modes under external stress lead to the localization of plastic events and formation of shear bands. This unstable behavior of the plasticity originates mostly in the motion and interaction of dislocations (line defects) for metals with crystalline order. In disordered metallic materials with amorphous microstructure, however, localized and immobile inhomogeneities of the material induce stress localization and lead also to the formation of shear bands. Although shear band formation in crystalline and disordered materials is inherently different, similarities exist between the two microprocess.
Goal of the present MSc work is to characterize inhomogeneities of the plastic deformation, primarily, in severe plastic deformed bulk metallic glasses and determine the distribution of the shear strain for various external deformation parameters using atomic force microscopy. Based on measured strain distribution, characteristics of the residual stress field and information on residual stress induced microprocesses are going to be targeted. |
